Since 2014 we have been working on Passivhaus projects using different materials and construction methodologies, of varying usage, size and budgets. Our experience includes 12 certified Passivhaus buildings to date plus many more either in the process of becoming certified or where we have provided Passivhaus guidance for high performance outcomes.
We adopt a collaborative approach with design and construction teams and work together to improve and optimise designs, incorporate required technical detailing without compromising design intent. We are happy to help whatever your project size or location.
Passivhaus Certification is an integral part of the Passivhaus Standard and guarantees compliance to the standard. Certification involves independent review of modelling undertaken by the Passivhaus consultant and the design team’s construction documentation prior to building works commencing. The as-built certification review at completion of construction provides assurance to building owners and occupants of the completed building.
Detail Green are endorsed by the Passivhaus Institut in Germany to certify Passivhaus buildings internationally.
Over the years we have adjusted our internal certification process to optimise efficiency and to make the process as smooth as possible for all parties involved.
With over 60 completed certifications since 2016 and more than 150 in progress we are Australia’s most experienced certification team. Projects vary from Australia’s smallest Passivhaus in Sydney to Australia’s first Passivhaus childcare centre in ACT, multi residential buildings in both Melbourne and Sydney, mixed use commercial buildings, with lots of single-family homes in between.
Detail Green have been providing NatHERS assessments for more than twenty years. We enjoy working on buildings aiming for high performance outcomes.
NatHERS assessments are also an integral part of our Passivhaus consulting and certification services to ensure your project meets the necessary NCC energy efficiency requirements and are modelled to accurately reflect Passivhaus assumptions.
As part of our comprehensive approach to energy efficient buildings, Detail Green provide Air Tightness testing services for residential buildings.
Air Tightness (also known as blower door) testing of buildings allows identification of leaks in the building fabric, which can be a significant source of heat losses and gains as well as a major contributor to uncomfortable indoor environments.
Blower door testing of a building during construction will verify performance against design specifications. Testing of existing buildings helps to identify and quantify opportunities for improvement.
We can provide blower door tests for residential projects in regional Victoria regardless of whether we are involved in other aspects of the project.
Detail Green have significant experience in commercial building energy audits in accordance with AS 3598. Our experience includes a wide range of buildings including office, education, community, accommodation and mixed-use buildings.
We have been involved in both small- and large-scale auditing, from one building for a local council, office buildings, aged care facilities, to large scale auditing schemes including almost 40 community buildings located throughout regional Victoria for the State Government.
